Join hundreds of other Chicagoans in the Mud Wars inaugural race on July 28 at Northerly Island, just steps from Lake Michigan. The race begins at 10 a.m. with start times every half an hour until 2:30 p.m. You get to choose between a 11–12:30 or 1–2:30 start time. Then savor the beauty of the Chicago skyline as you confront nine obstacles designed by former marines and NFL players. Bask in the sunlight glittering off Lake Michigan as you flop through all three mud pits in this 5k fun run. You’ll cross the finish line triumphant in mud, but that’s only the beginning. Three DJs and live bands will play music as you eat, drink and groove your way into the night with all the other champions. You don’t have to stay mucky though, there are cleaning stations, Lake Michigan and the Mud Wars Girls with super soakers to help rinse you off. You’ll get mud wars dog tags to take home as well as some wild stories. So Swoop in on today’s deal and discover happiness in the squish of mud.
